BAY AREA QUEER WRITERS ASSOCIATIONBay Area Queer Writers Association- Binny’s The Bay Area Queer Writers Association promotes the writing and reading of LGBTQ+ literature. Six BAQWA members will read from new work and published work at Beast Crawl 2024. Reader Short Biographies Wayne Goodman has lived most of his life in the San Francisco Bay Area (with too many cats). He is the host of Queer Words Podcast. Pat Henshaw has been a theatrical costumer, reporter, librarian, English instructor, and publicist—as well as writer. She wants to remind you every day is a good day for romance. Mike Karpa is a gay San Francisco writer. His first novel CRIMINALS was a Kirkus Reviews Best Book of 2022. His short work has been published in Tin House and elsewhere. Gar McVey-Russell’s novel SIN AGAINST THE RACE (gamr books, 2017) appeared on The Advocate’s Best Books We Read in 2018: LGBTQ Novels. He lives in Oakland with his husband. Kelliane Parker is the author of DOWN THE FOGGY STREETS OF MY MIND. She’s a professional day dreamer who explores one's inner world. Her work can be found at kellianeparkerpoetry.com. Jan Steckel’s poetry collection THE HORIZONTAL POET won a Lambda Literary Award, and her LIKE FLESH COVERS BONE won two Rainbow Awards.
