Ever since our first showcase in 2023, our mission has always been to bridge the gap between local talent and community and provide a safe space inclusive for everyone to enjoy Bay Area culture. J.Rice (@imjrice) is an award-winning author, English teacher, poet, and the host/curator of SOCIAL SATURDAYS. His debut novel, Broken Pencils earned the 2024 Literary Titan Gold Book Award. Ladirev (@ladirev) is a poet, educator, and healer from Bayview Hunters Point. She has over a decade of experience working as a facilitator/educator in youth development. Julian Blackmon (@Protected_Poet) is a dynamic performer and wordsmith poet, born in Marion, Indiana, and raised in the Bay Area, who draws passion to craft evocative pieces addressing healing and personal experiences. He earned the Grand Slam Champion at the 2024 Berkeley Poetry Slam. Juni Speaks (@juni.speaks) is a creative writer and powerful spoken word poet hailing from Vallejo, CA. She has been a featured performer and host at venues across the Bay Area. Papi Grande (@pap1grand3) is a spoken word artist, slam poet, musician, and event host and Oakland native. Ray Marenco-Quintana (@random28) is a spoken word poet born in Redwood City , now residing in Oakland, California. He considers himself a Freebase Poet due to his family owning and running the label Freebase Records and Freebase Studios. 4pm Leg 1 - Commune Oakland
