Oakland’s Longest Running Literary Festival
Beast Crawl was founded in 2012 by a group of writers (Paul Corman-Roberts, Youssef Alaoui, Missy Church, Andrew J. Thomas, and Heather HK Rainey) who wanted to create a space for the East Bay's diverse literary community to come together and celebrate their work. The first Beast Crawl was held in Uptown Oakland with the help of Hollie Hardy and Scott B. Stokes, and featured 20 performers and took place at bars, restaurants, bookstores, and even a sex shop for some extremely memorable performances
The mission of Beast Crawl is to promote the literary arts in the East Bay and to provide a platform for diverse voices to be heard. The festival is committed to providing a space for writers, poets, and other artists to share their work with the community, and to fostering a sense of community among the East Bay's literary community.

Dear Beasties,
Due to some concerning allegations, we have uninvited curators from our program for this year Crawls to ensure the safety of our community.
We want to thank our community members who have come forward.
We want to remind everyone that abuse of any kind, be it physical, sexual misconduct and violence is not permitted at Beast Crawl.

The Beast has four legs this years, four different Locations that the Festival will be anchored at in Downtown Oakland.Locations. A majority of our line up has been confirmed, but please be patient with us as we confirm our final venues, Some details may be subject to change,

Interested in selling your merch? We are looking for local publishing houses, presses and authors to sell their merch at our first Beast Crawl Book Fair, in downtown Oakland on April 19th, from 12-4pm.
Limited Table Space:
$50 to Reserve a Table.
$25 to Reserve an area (bring your own table)
Please note: ALL VENDORS MUST HAVE A VENDORS PERMIT TO PARTICIPATE AS VENDOR AT OUR BOOK FAIR!
